A banana smoothie recipe first thing in the morning is the prefect way to kick start an adventurous day. They are super sweet, creamy and always so fulfilling that you just have to try one!!!
Bananas are the number one eaten fruit in America (got to be second to mangoes here in Jamaica though) and it's no surprise that a lot of vegan smoothies all use bananas. But that's a good thing. Bananas are rich in potassium which helps to protect people from high blood pressure problems, strokes, and hardening of the arteries. Potassium also helps maintain good circulation.
Bananas also help with athletic performance, digestion and comes fully loaded with a host of essential nutrients. Theses yellow fellas may also help you out if you have problems falling asleep. Na-nas are healthy.
Okay, for theses recipes you will need some over ripe bananas, you know the ones with the little brown spots. These spots, along with its sweet aroma, are an indication that the fruit is ready to be savoured.
So we'll add the liquids to a blender first followed by our fruits. Blend for a little then add in the leafy greens and ice, blend on high speed for 1/2 minute or until smooth.
Note: Ice cubes are optional. Frozen fruits really give this smoothie its creamy texture. Now, let's try some more.....
The method is the same as the recipe above. Liquids and fruits go in first. Then we blend and add in our spinach afterwards. Now we will blend at high speed until it's smooth or until it reaches the desired consistency.
Add all the ingredients to the blender and at high speed, blend to desired consistency. Almond nuts/cashews/pecans are high in protein and essential fats. These things are important for a number of bodily functions including cellular/muscular growth and the insulation of your vital organs so it's really good to get in some nuts. This banana smoothie recipe has a lot of crunchy goodness in it... Do enjoy!!!
