Vegan green smoothie recipes are in high demand these days! But this should come as no surprise.
Grabbing an ice cold green smoothie or adding some greens to your favourite vegan smoothie is (in my book) the easiest way to energize and revitalize your life- especially early in the mornings.
I was doing a bit of reading the other day when I came across a rather interesting article about green plants. To my surprise, plant blood (chlorophyll) actually allows our cells to capture sunlight energy!!!
This is absolutely remarkable to me! So basically "leafy-greens" are jam-packed with goodies (nutrients) and by consuming them regularly ,and getting some sunlight, you will feel more alive and energetic than ever before.
Check out this article for more on that research.
Okay, I know you're dying to get to the recipes but before we get started, a word of advice for you:
Try not to throw all the greens you can find in your kitchen into you blender all at once, instead, take the time to experiment and to figure what goes well with what and what tastes best to you... moderation is best.
Now ikimashou (still practising my Japanese)...let's go!!!
That's it, you can also freeze your mangoes and pineapples before hand if you like.... I always do that.
All you need to do is blend in a blender to desired consistency. If your fruits weren't frozen you might want to add a few ice cubes to get that chilled feeling but not too much, we wouldn't want to dilute the flavour.
I call this one a tropical gem because of the secret ingredient.. Okay, okay, it's not a secret it's just coconut water/coconut milk.
You can use different greens other than spinach if you like. I like using cabbage, Callao or broccoli and all sorts of other green stuff. I'm an experimenter.
P.s. your fruits should be peeled...
It's pretty simple to make your own green smoothie recipes. Just choose what ever greens you like and some fruits that go well together (like papaya and watermelons) and blend them up.
I recommended about 3 cups of fruits to each cup of greens. If you choose to add a base coconut water or distilled water is a great healthy idea. If you don't have either be sure to boil your water first. Almond milk, soy milk and rice milk are pretty cool additions to your vegan smoothie recipes too.
That's it guys, real simple and naturally delicious... do enjoy!!
